SRC Carrier Vetting: Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 18, 2026. Updated Oct 18, 2026: added "Carrier lane preferences".

SRC Carrier Vetting is a carrier-vetting tool from Shippers Resource Center ("SRC", "we", "us"). This policy covers the SRC Carrier Vetting web app at vet.adamfreight.com, the SRC Carrier Vetting Sidebar extension for Chrome, and the SRC Carrier Vetting web app hosted on Google Apps Script. It explains what information we handle and why.

The short version

Information from Google (Google Drive)

When you connect Google Drive, you give the app permission to use only the Google Drive files that it creates or that you open with it. This is the "drive.file" permission. The app cannot see, read or change any other files in your Google Drive.

We use this permission only to:

Your Google sign-in token stays in your browser (in the extension, in the browser's session memory). It is never sent to our servers. We cannot use it to reach your Google Drive.

Limited Use. SRC Carrier Vetting's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:

Information our server receives

To run a carrier check or a search, our server (hosted on Google Apps Script) receives:

Our server sends the MC or DOT number, name or other search text to public FMCSA data services to get the carrier's authority, insurance, inspection and safety information. Results from those public sources are cached on our server for up to 6 hours so repeat checks are fast.

We keep a log of searches and checks: when they ran, which access key or user ran them, what was searched, and the result (for example GREEN, YELLOW or RED). We use the log to run the service, to prevent abuse, and to answer support questions. We keep it for 12 months. Shipment searches are run on your own computer and are not sent to us.

Support requests

If you send a support request from the app, we receive what you write, any screenshot you attach, your access key or user name, and the time. We use it only to answer you and to fix problems, and we keep it until it is resolved plus 12 months.

Carrier lane preferences

This section is for carriers who fill in our lane form at vet.adamfreight.com/lanes/. You don't need an SRC access key for it.

When a carrier fills in our lane form, we store the lane preferences they give us (pickup and drop-off ZIP zones, or cities with a distance such as "within 200 miles of Minneapolis, MN", equipment and notes), along with the MC or DOT number and the contact name, email and phone they enter, in our own Google account, keyed by that MC or DOT number. We keep earlier versions as history, and the newest answers replace the old ones. If that MC or DOT number is already on our own list of carriers, we also email the answers to ourselves so we can follow up. We also send one plain confirmation email to the email address entered on the form, listing the lanes we received (at most one an hour for the same company or address). Carriers can also choose to fill in an optional page: a dispatch or capacity contact (email, phone, best time to reach them), how they take quotes and loads (quote API and docs link, quote email, quote portal, email or EDI), hazmat and special handling, and availability. If the link they used came from someone on our team, it may also show up to five extra questions from that person; those answers are shown only to that person. We show the lanes, equipment and notes (not the contact name, email and phone from the first page) to brokers who use our tools when they look up that carrier. The optional answers, including the dispatch contact, are shown only to our own team inside our carrier vetting tool, never to our clients. Carriers can change their lanes at any time, or ask us to delete them, by contacting us.

While you fill in the form, your browser keeps a draft of your answers on that device, so you don't lose them if the page closes; it is cleared when you submit. The map pictures come from OpenStreetMap's tile servers, which see your IP address as for any picture your browser loads.

Information stored on your computer

The web app and the extension keep a copy of your lists in your browser's storage on that computer, so the app opens quickly. The extension also stores your app link, your access key, and its settings. Choose "Sign out on this computer" to remove the copy of your lists from that computer. Your files stay in your Google Drive until you delete them. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Lists uploaded before November 2026

Earlier versions of the app stored uploaded lists on our server. When you connect your Google Drive, the app moves your old list into your Drive and then deletes our copy. We are deleting any remaining server copies by December 31, 2026.
